The Beginnings

For ten years (1986-1996), Pastor Doug served as the Associate Pastor at Grapevine Fellowship Church under Pastor Bud Higginbotham. In 1996, Grapevine sent Pastor Doug and a team of 50 to plant a church int eh Silverdo Ranch area and Oasis Christian Church was born.

The Adventure Begins!

Over a period of nine years (1996-2005), Pastor Doug and many followers held services in two elementary schools and a children's day care facility. Having faith and following God's lead, property on the corner of Gilespie and Cactus was purchased in 1999. Plans were drawn, excitement was rising and finally in 2003, Oasis hosted a master plan unveiling banquet and a formal groundbreaking ceremony.

At last! Construction begins in the Spring of 2004 and after many ups and downs, the very first service at our new permanent facility was held Easter Sunday, 2005. What a day!! Of course we had to celebrate with an official grand opening that same year with a special guest speaker, our friend, Pastor Gene Appel. The journey is just beginning and we are ready more than ever to "go where God is" in ministering to people's spiritual and physical needs through the love and power of God!
