One of our outreach programs is the Widow's Project. We are currently helping Helen a 62 year old widow who lost her husband about 5 years ago. As husband and wife, they worked in construction together and began to build their home. Helen had heart surgery two years ago which makes it difficult for her to complete the contstruction of her home. Since August 2007, many volunteers go to Helen's home, once a month, and do what needs to be done. So far volunteers have:

• completed the sheet rock
• installed insulation
• installed a bathroom door
• cleaned out the house
• removed a window and replaced it with siding
• patched the roof
• built a deck on the front of the house
• put in new carpet
